How much does it cost to replace a carburetor on a generator?
The carburetor mixes air and fuel to create the right combustion ratio. Small problems, such as a loose gasket, can be easily repaired for less than $50. Complete carburetor replacement will cost between $60 and $300.
How do you clean a carburetor without removing it?
Spray liberally with carb cleaner – trying to direct the cleaner into the jets – and leave to soak for a few minutes. Use an air line (or a can of pressurised air, sold as an ‘air duster’) to blow through the jets. Repeat the previous step and this one until you can see no more gunge.
Where is the carburetor located on my generator?
Note: The carburetor is located in the back of the generator just behind the air filter assembly.

Most carburetor cleaners do the work for you, no scrubbing required. Readily available and affordable. Most auto parts stores will carry a few brands of carburetor cleaner. Typically less than $20, carburetor cleaners are a cheap, efficient way to improve the overall performance of your vehicle.
How does a carb work?
The carburetor works on Bernoulli’s principle: the faster air moves, the lower its static pressure, and higher the dynamic pressure is. The throttle (accelerator) linkage does not directly control the flow of liquid fuel.
What are the main parts of an electric generator?

- Fuel System.
- Voltage Regulator.

Assuming those switches are working, any delay or lack of power after losing outside power is a sign that your generator either needs repairs or should be replaced. Put simply, it’s not starting and doing its job.
Can you rebuild generator?
A rebuilt engine can extend the life of your generator and is less expensive than a full replacement of the unit. If you are reliant on generator power and need an emergency backup generator, we can help you with a generator rental while we repair your engine.
How often should Generac generator be serviced?
Maintenance should be done on your portable or standby generator once per year, just as you would with a lawn mower or ATV. The first and probably most important maintenance task is changing the oil. You should use SAE 30 oil (most maintenance kits come with two quarts).
